Draft Directive Performance Presentations, Auditing, and Surveillance of In Situ Oil Sands Schemes for Stakeholder Review and Comment
Interim Directive (ID) 2002-03: Performance Presentations for In Situ Oil Sands Schemes established requirements for annual performance presentations for in situ oil sands schemes. EUB Decision 2000-022, Decision 2003-023, and Decision 2005-122 required some operators to file annual resource management reports. This new directive supersedes, consolidates, and clarifies these requirements into a single document. The Oil Sands Conservation Regulations will be amended to refer to the new directive.
As part of the review process, the EUB has received feedback from various operators through annual performance presentations, committee work, and other meetings. This draft directive is now available for broader stakeholder comment on the EUB Web site at www.ercb.ca. A paper copy is also available on request from EUB Information Services by contacting (403) 297-8311 (select 2).
Industry feedback is specifically requested to better define the injection well pressure reporting requirements. Issues to be addressed include
- wellhead pressure vs. heel pressure with gas blanket, and
- monthly average or single snapshot per month and when single snapshot should be taken (start, middle, or end of month).
Comments are requested and must be received by August 2, 2007, preferably via e-mail to EUB.insitu@eub.ca. Alternatively, comments may be sent to
