Revised Edition of Directive 007: Production Accounting Handbook

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) announces the release of the revised edition of Directive 007: Volumetric and Infrastructure Requirements (formerly titled Production Accounting Handbook), which contains the regulatory requirements for the electronic submission of all well, facility, and pipeline monthly information and well status changes to the EUB through the Petroleum Registry of Alberta (PRA).

In addition, an On-Line Supplement to Directive 007: Volumetric and Infrastructure Requirements, available on the EUB Web site www.eub.ca, will assist industry in understanding how the data are submitted to the EUB using the PRA.

Effective January 31, 2008:

  • amended volumetric submissions must be made within a five-year reporting period; and

  • the EUB will no longer accept amended “S” statements for production months prior to October 2002 or as otherwise directed by the EUB.

With the exception of the Monthly Gas Processing Plant Sulphur Balance Report (S-30), the following amended “S” statements will no longer be accepted:

  • S-1 Monthly Production Statement

  • S-2 Monthly Disposition Statement

  • S-6 Monthly Refinery Processing Statement

  • S-8 Monthly Gas Gathering Statement

  • S-18 Monthly Injection/Disposal Statement

  • S-20 Monthly Gas Processing Statement

  • S-21 Monthly Gas Processing Plant Products Statement

  • S-24 Monthly Custom Treating Plant Statement

This new edition of Directive 007 includes the following updates:

  • Effective January 31, 2008, the EUB will no longer accept amended “S” statements for the production month prior to October 2002.

  • Amended volumetric submissions are subject to a closed five-year reporting period.

  • Compliance and enforcement details are included to align with Directive 019: Compliance Assurance-Enforcement

  • Commingling submission criteria are included to align with Directive 065: Resources Applications for Conventional Oil and Gas Reservoirs.

The On-Line Supplement to Directive 007 includes

  • updated facility subtypes and definitions,

  • updated well status types and definitions,

  • revised gas equivalent factors (GEFs) effective for the January 2008 production month, and

  • updated activity transactions.

This edition of Directive 007 replaces the requirements for volumetric reporting and well status changes in the previous edition of Directive 007 and Interim Directive (ID) 2002-01: Electronic Submission of Production, Disposition, and Transportation Volumetric and Well Status Changes, which is thereby rescinded.
