Revision to Development Entity No. 2 (Order No. DE 2006-2)

This bulletin confirms that the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) has made the following revisions to the current order for Development Entity No. 2:

• The applicable stratigraphic interval has been expanded to include all formations from the top of the Smoky Group to the base of the Rock Creek Member.
• The original area of Development Entity No. 2 has been expanded by 192 townships.

Order No. DE 2006-2A has been issued to reflect the above changes and is available on the ERCB Web site www.ercb.ca.

Background
On October 31, 2006, the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB; predecessor to the ERCB) issued Bulletin 2006-38: Implementation of Development Entities for Management of Commingled Production from Two or More Pools in the Wellbore. The bulletin confirmed that the EUB was establishing, by the issuance of EUB Development Entity Orders No. DE 2006-1 and DE 2006-2, the two development entities described in Bulletin 2006-28: Changes to The Management of Commingling of Production from Two or More Pools in the Wellbore. Development Entity No.2 comprises all formations from the top of the Smoky Group to the base of the Nikanassin Formation in the Deep Basin area of the province. The specified area for Development Entity No. 2 is indicated on the map in Appendix 1 of Order 2006-2A.
