LETTER TO OPERATORS 2001-01-11

January 11, 2001

To: All Oil and Gas Operators

VIPIR / EUB Data Cleanup Project

As you are all probably aware, the Volumetric and Infrastructure Petroleum Information Registry (VIPIR) project is proceeding towards the business design/implementation phase. In conjunction with this, the EUB must clean up the data on the Production Injection and Disposition (PID) system and the Basic Well Data (BWD) system, so that both systems can eventually be loaded into the VIPIR registry for use in editing incoming submissions.

The EUB has set up a small team to accomplish this cleanup and may require assistance from industry. The EUB believes that significant efficiencies can be gained if reporting companies provide the EUB with explanations and/or amended data on well data or production information if so requested.

The EUB would appreciate receiving expedient responses to queries made by the VIPIR cleanup team. Questions respecting this matter may be directed to Richard Gowan, acting cleanup team liaison with industry, at (403) 297-8958, or Michele Kelly, the team leader/coordinator, at (403) 297-2596.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation,

Al Chare
Manager
Information Collection and Dissemination
