Release of Guide 7: Production Accounting Handbook (September 2002 Draft) 

The new revised draft version of Guide 7: Production Accounting Handbook, issued on September 13, 2002, contains the new reporting requirements for the production month of September 2002 and forward using the Petroleum Registry of Alberta. We are seeking stakeholder input regarding the contents and usability of this draft. The draft Guide 7as well as the 2001 version, are available on the EUB Web site <www.ercb.ca >. 

The EUB plans to link sections of Guide 7 to the appropriate Petroleum Registry training modules so that production accountants can find all the information they need in one place. We are working closely with the Industry Training Team, which is developing the modules.  

We invite industry to review this draft of Guide 7 as you use the new training modules and to comment back to us regarding the usefulness of the guide, what is missing or not clear, and what sections may be appropriate to be linked to the training modules. 

The May 2001 edition of Guide 7 is still applicable for completion of S statements for the August 2002 production month or earlier. The final revised version of Guide 7 will incorporate both the new draft and the 2001 edition into one complete guide once feedback has been received from industry.
