Enhancements to ST59: Alberta Drilling Activity Monthly Statistics

The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) ST59: Alberta Drilling Activity Monthly Statistics contains drilling activities, well counts, active pools, licences issued by type, and active gas processing plants information. The data are obtained from various sources submitted by operators to the ERCB.

ST59 has been revised to enhance the data reported to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively. Specific changes are listed below.

1 Changes to the Activities Statistics section of ST59

1.1 Drilling Activity

Values for coalbed methane and shale gas well counts and metres drilled, which were previously included with the gas totals, are now shown separately.

1.2 Capable and Operated Wells

Shale gas well counts are now identified.

2 Excel Format Available

In addition to the PDF version, an Excel version of the report is now available on the ERCB Web site www.ercb.ca.
